We are looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Web Quality Assurance (QA) Intern to help ensure that our websites and web applications deliver a smooth, reliable, and user-friendly experience.
In this role, you will test website functionality, design consistency, responsiveness, usability, and performance across different devices and browsers. You will work closely with developers and designers to identify issues, document bugs, verify fixes, and support the delivery of high-quality digital products.
Description
As a Web Quality Assurance Intern, you will participate in the complete website testing process—from reviewing requirements and preparing test scenarios to reporting defects and validating resolved issues.
You will perform manual testing on websites and web-based applications, check that features work as expected, and identify problems related to navigation, content, forms, links, layouts, responsiveness, and browser compatibility.
This internship is suitable for students, recent graduates, and aspiring QA professionals who want practical experience in website testing, software quality assurance, and digital product development.
Responsibilities
- Test websites and web applications for functionality, usability, responsiveness, and visual consistency.
- Perform manual testing across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Check website compatibility across browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari.
- Identify and document functional, visual, content, and performance-related issues.
- Create clear bug reports with descriptions, screenshots, reproduction steps, expected results, and actual results.
- Test website forms, buttons, menus, links, search functions, login pages, and other interactive elements.
- Verify that website content, images, headings, spacing, fonts, and layouts are displayed correctly.
- Conduct responsive testing across different screen sizes and device orientations.
- Retest resolved issues and perform regression testing to ensure that updates have not affected existing features.
- Collaborate with developers and designers to communicate defects and support issue resolution.
- Maintain testing checklists, test cases, defect reports, and other QA documentation.
- Provide feedback on website usability and the overall user experience.
- Assist with basic accessibility, performance, and SEO-related website checks.
- Participate in team discussions and provide regular updates on testing progress.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree, diploma, or certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Web Development, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of websites, browsers, and web-based applications.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify small visual or functional issues.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to follow testing instructions and document findings clearly.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Reliable internet connection and access to a computer.
- Willingness to learn new testing tools, processes, and quality standards.
- Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred skills
- Basic knowledge of manual software testing and quality assurance concepts.
- Familiarity with test cases, test scenarios, bug reporting, regression testing, and usability testing.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or browser developer tools.
- Experience using issue-tracking or project-management tools such as Jira, Trello, ClickUp, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with website testing tools such as Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights, BrowserStack, or similar tools.
- Basic understanding of responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Awareness of website accessibility and user-experience principles.
- Previous experience testing personal projects, academic websites, or web applications is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright is a plus but not required.
